There is something that physically and mentally happens to humans when surrounded by peaceful country scenes and domestic animals. We become quietly awed and softened in our souls. So throughout the year I welcome friends, family and strangers to experience what is now known as eco-therapy or earth therapy.
Children, especially those from the city, are the most fun to see them do things they likely never tried before like, groom a horse, drive a Gator, ride a horse or hold puppies.
I however, get the biggest kick seeing adults transform before my eyes after just a few hours on the farm. They go from excitement for their kids and happy to get out of the city to reflective, appreciative and quieted in their souls. Nothing gives me more pleasure. There is such harmony and healing in the amazing beauty of Mother Nature. She opens our eyes to hope.
